This unique small vintage vest is French and dates from c 1900 and was worn as a traditional folk dress textile. ~ This wonderful textile is made of a heavy wool felted fabric on the front and red corduroy on the backing. The metallic thread designs and trim are fabulous! it buttons on the shoulder and the waist . A rare and wonderful find ~ ( vest E157 ) APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS : Length : 18 inches Chest: approx. 32 inches Waist approx. 33 CONDITION : This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with light storage dust. It could use a lint brush! ~There are some wonderful hand mends on the back! Quite gorgeous condition for its age!!
