Description: Antique hand tinted tintype in a layered carved grapevine gold gilt wooden frame inset with red velvet. Image appears to be of a lady in mourning and has gold painted details such as her earrings, pin and necklace. I did remove it from the frame to inspect and found there to be a Chicago newspaper clipping, with a late 1800s date. The total size of the outer frame is 19" x 21".The image is approx. 7" x 9". There is some chipping to the wood, paint and corners, wear to the velvet, etc. Please see all the photos, and closeups as both sides are shown. If additional photos are needed just ask. Reflections in the glass were prevalent due to the lighting. Thanks for looking!
