Description: Up for bids is this antique soldered tin teapot shaped miners oil lamp as seen in the pictures. The lamp has no markings and I do not know the maker. I'm not sure how this lamp is used because the lid seems to be fixed onto the lamp and does not turn or lift off. The only thing I can think of is you have to pour oil down the spout then stick a wick down the spout and light it. There is also a tiny hole in the center of the top to let in air. Very unusual. The only other thing I can think of is that its just an oil can you keep filled for filling up up your oil lamp when it is empty. I really don't know. The lamp stands 3" high and measures 1 1/2" across the bottom. Being sold as pictured and described.
