Description: Incredibly rare piece from 1888. Plaque in the top suggests this was a 25th anniversary gift. It is oak with brass hardware. The Tiffany address on the inside was opened in 1878 and closed in 1910. Which fits with the 1888 date on the plaque. There is some chips to the top of the box (please see photos) The padding on top is no longer attached. But it fits well and you can feel the soft possibly wool or cotton stuffing. There is also a hole over the T in Tiffany. Again please see photos. The locking mechanism is gone. But the box is solid. Its pinkish red interior is in good condition. And it’s larger than any Tiffany storage chests I’ve seen from this era. A truly once in a lifetime find.
