Description: I have been traveling the Himalayan areas like Dharamshala for the last few years, and have brought back only a few treasures to pass on. Each of the items I have are either antique or extremely high quality. I have done my best to find the best. Each mala has been blessed and used at the Dalai Lama temple in McLeod Ganj. May these items find new homes and bring blessings to their new caretakers. Many of these beads are over 1,000 years old, so we are all links in that chain. Antique 17th-18th century Tibetan small sized Buddha statue. I saw thousands and thousands of cheap statues like this in the markets. However, this one was sourced via a nomad who had traveled to Dharamshala for the Dalai Lama teachings. It is VERY heavy for the size, obviously handmade, and has the patina and wear consistent with the age stated. I have had several people with better knowledge than I look and handle it, and they felt 17th-18tj century or earlier would be accurate. These small statues are often seen on temple walls with hundreds of them lining the temple. Size is 80mm tall and 42mm wide at the base. A perfect small statue for a traveling shrine or object of worship.
