Description: Very rare archival Swiss embroidery sample book - Came to New York City from Switzerland during the first World War to be protected by potential bombings. (I have many more of these books, however not immediately for sale). Sample of about 200 pages with approximately 6,000 samples within the book. The samples are in excellent condition. Many have colored embroidery samples and the majority of the pages are full of samples, some pages not full. The embroideries are Swiss cotton/lawn. This book is extremely rare because of the color cotton and embroidery. Book is from C. 1918-1922
