Description: An antique Stoneware Beer Mug, Tankard or Stein with relief decorations and cobalt accents. Attributed to the pottery of White’s Utica, New York State, ca.1890-1907. Molded “Barrel” form with applied handle. Embossed with a Tavern Scene on one side, and German Verse surrounded by an ornate border on the other. Verse translates, roughly: “ Where the stein klinks filled with blood from the vine, one knows no sorrow, just joy and good humor . Stein / Mug shows its age no repairs some crazing very nice solid mug. Sold as pictured. Mug Measures 5 1/4" tall and about 6" in width with handle. Great addition to any collection!
