Fixed on a wooden board. Marked "F. Stiasny" at the right bottom corner. Franz Stiasny (1881-1941) was a polish artist who produced a large series of portrait medals. His series focused around important figures in history, including writers, musicians and historic icons. Various medals and plaques were cast in Austria in the 1930s. This antique portrait plaque is in very good condition for its age, showing a dark patina. Very heavy solid bronze.
