Description: My parents traveled extensively throughout their lives and collected small items they believed to be old and genuine. They visited China in the mid ‘80s, and came back with some collectables, including this. They said that it was an antique ink box. I'm sure there are fakes circulating by now, but given that they had it for decades, and I've had it since they passed, it seems that it should be real. (The lid also has this "double layer--it moves a fraction of an inch when you tough it--which seams like a detail that modern "reproductions" wouldn't include.
