Description: Up for sale is neat piece of folk art sewer tile pottery. Its a Fireplace Ashtray. Very similar to an example in the Sewer Tile Book by Jack Adamson. Both the books example and this one are signed by Louie Staley. This example isn't dated and is signed just L Staley. The book has several different Staley pieces and most date from the 1920s to 1940s. I would assume this one dates to the same range. Staley was an important artist of sewer tile pieces. Thought to be from Ohio. See the final two photos to see the book and example from the book. This one is just over 9 and half inches wide. About 5 and 1/4 inches deep. About 6 and 3/8 inches tall. See can for scale. Its bigger than the examples in the book. Weighs over 7 pounds and 2 ounces. Condition:Nice condition. All original. No repairs. No breaks. No cracks and no chips. Displays well. Not dirty or stained from being used as an ashtray. See photos and video to determine condition.
