Description: For sale is an antique set of The Century Dictionary and Cyclopedia in 10 volumes complete. The edition date is 1904. These books are 120 years old and have received some damage over the decades. I have had them for a number of years in an air conditioned and smoke-free environment. They have no musty odor. Overall, the set is in fairly good condition considering its age. Please examine the photos carefully. I've tried to list the major issues below. Volume IV has water damage to a section of the pages but just a few inches from the outer edges (note the photo with the white section where the guilding is missing). Please note that although some of the volumes have come into contact with water at some point, there is absolutely no musty or stale to any of the volumes. However, there are water stains and some discoloration where this has happened. The front cover of volume X has water damage to its right corner. All maps are included in volume X, but someone removed the last page of the gazetteer (containing the "z" index of locations). Some of the color plates' corners in volume I were creased and came loose but have been repaired with archieval mending tape. The covers are made of leather and have deteriorated somewhat over the years. They should be handled very carefully. Remember, this leather is 120 years old!
