Antique ROYAL SNOWMAN w CIGAR LIGHT UP HARD PLASTIC in OUTSTANDING CONDITION

Description: the popular Santa and Snowman figures by Royal, circa 1949. These figures were offered holding bubble lights, green plastic trees, or simple "Merry Christmas" signs. Originally offered only by Royal, the molds were later sold to NOMA and Miller when the Royal Christmas factory burned in 1955. As a result, you can find boxed examples of these figures with all three names on them, which can be a bit confusing. To make matters even more complicated, in the early 1970s, the molds for the figures were re-tooled to eliminate the light or tree sockets, and Santa and his friend were then sold as simple internally-lit children's night lights by the Empire plastics Company.Snowman is 7.5 inches tall and made of hard plastic characteristic of 1940s and 50s lighted figures; his left arm socket carried a tree, sign or bubble light depending on the marketed form; as a Royal product, it originally came in a box and when found that way today yields high dollar sales; electrified hard plastic items were usually stored for the year with wiring wrapped around the body and unknown to the owner was the leeching of chemicals which caused permanent impressions in the plastic along with discoloration; the majority of figures availble unfortunately show these imperfections. condition of ours is outstanding and nearly perfect with only faintest markings if any and very insignificant glue yellowing in one seam; the whites are bright and clear while colors are fine without losses; no cracks or surface issues; original electrical feed is intact with light working as seen in photos 2-8; the tree he carries is a handsomely appropriate resin replacement; bulb included but not guaranteed to light due to shippingyour questions are welcomed and answered quicklyplease contact for additional details or informationcarefully packed and shipped in clean recycled materialsbe sure to view other items at Evergreen Emporiumloc Bn self
