Description: Antique Ridgway, Morley, Wear & Co. "Caledonian" 5” Red LID ONLY for Sugar Bowl. This listing is for a replacement LID for a Red Transferware Sugar Bowl in the "Caledonian" Pattern, manufactured by Ridgway, Morley, Wear & Co in the period 1836-1842 in the Shelton or Hanley region of Staffordshire England. This particular lid is in the red color only. Some of the pieces in this plaid were multicolor. This lid would also fit a teapot but does not have a steam hole which is generally present for teapots. Measurements are approx. 5”x 3 3/4” x 3”. The lid is in very good condition with no significant chips or cracks. There are a couple stress crevices on the inside corners from the manufacturing process and a couple of minor flakes off the glaze that have darkened. Please review my pictures. Lids are fun to collect on their own. Thanks for your interest!
