Description: Measures 73” by 93” . Has been hand stitched and machine stitched. I believe the star blocks were made 1880 to1910. My opinion is based on the types and colors of the patchwork in the stars. They include, Dennison pink, indigo blue, small first black and pink prints on white ground. Also burgundy, brown red, and what looks like a madder print. These were all common and popular through the 1880 to 1910 era. I believe the setting squares and sashing in the orange print was added at a much later date. Could be 1950-60-70’s. Another clue is that the stars are all hand stitched and the orange blocks were attached later with machine stitching. You could enjoy it as it is or swap out the orange for an older print. You can find appropriate reproduction fabrics on line.
