Reinier Vinkeles (1741-1816), was a painter and engraver from Amsterdam, who was the later teacher of several talented artists. He studied for some ten years with Jan Punt and joined the Amsterdam Stadstekenacademie. Vinkeles had a substantial output in prints. Bernhard Rode (German; 1727-1797) worked in Berlin. He was aquainted with many of his famous contemporaries like Lessing, Sulzer and Chodowiecki.
