Description: Antique Framed Print of a Scottish woman in TARTAN SASH by W.W. and framed by Aitken Dott & Son, Edinburgh. 7 3/8"X 4 3/8". Cardboard Back. Not sure if this was a postcard or artist board. Writing on the back (picture) I took the nails holding the picture out for camera pictures, it will come to you without the nails. Aitken Dott & Son was founded by Aitken Dott as carvers, gilders and frame makers in 1842. Aitken's son Peter McOmish Dott went on to develop the Edinburgh firm into a fine art dealers called The Scottish Gallery which opened in 1897. It was continued by George Proudfoot and is now the oldest commercial gallery still trading in Scotland. They were renown for providing bespoke frames and other artist supplies for both artists and galleries across Scotland. My listings are mostly all used, vintage or antique condition.
