Description: Antique Etching/ Print Mare & Foal By J. F. Lewis Signed Dated 1825 Matted and Framed. John Fredrick Lewis was a Royal Academy Artist born 1804 died 1870. He was a prolific Artist in Multiple Mediums. Well know for his animal especially horse Prints. This has been assessed by art appraiser and was told it is a Antique Etching/ Print . The Print does have some discoloration as expected with the type of paper used and its age. The glass from the frame is missing but the frame itself is solid wood and in good condition replacing the glass would not be difficult. The matt is in good condition for its age again some discoloration but gives it a nice patina. Print is approx. 5x6. Frame is 11x13. Based on style of frame and matt estimate this frame alone is from the mid century modern period. There are no tears or holes.
