Description: Antique Piano Baby Bisque Porcelain Heubach Girl In Rocking Cradle 6.25” This is an Antique Bisque Porcelain Piano Baby. We obtained this from an estate and it was listed as being made by Heubach in Germany. However, it is not marked. This is a Girl Baby in a Cradle. The Cradle is made so that you can manually rock it. Piano Babies were used as weights to hold down decorative shawls that were draped across pianos and keep them from sliding around. Piano babies date to the late 1800s and early 1900s. They were popular in Germany up until WWI. This Piano Baby is in Excellent Condition. It looks like it was well cared for. It measures approximately 6.25” long, 3.5” wide and 4” tall to the top of the baby’s head. Please magnify the pictures for the details. They are part of the description.
