Description: This is a pair of antique wooden spools with metal edges around the top and bottom. There is chipped red paint on one end of both spools. They stand 7" tall on a 3" diameter base. The top measures 2-3/8" across, with a 5/8" opening where a candle could be placed. These look like spools for an industrial sewing machine. They are unmarked, but I noticed some letters under the red paint that I am unable to decipher. They may say "England". They came from an estate of a woman who traveled extensively, but I don't know the story on these pieces. The pair would make a unique set of candle holders. The worn, rustic, red paint is perfect for Christmas decor, and these pieces could easily be embellished with ribbon and greenery for the holidays. They also display beautifully just as they are!
