Description: Amazing antique/vintage Odd Fellows IOOF black velvet jacket/coat/robe with gold trim and cotton striped lining made by Ihling Brothers Everard Company. In good vintage condition. Exact date of production unknown, but construction and materials point to it being made between early 1900s-1920s. Sizing is closest to a modern-day men's medium (see photos for measurements). Although garment is an antique, still in very strong condition. Could be worn, but probably best for display to maintain integrity. All snaps in working order. Loose threads here and there, but no rips or tears. Cotton, ticking fabric is stained and has multiple spots/marks throughout. Velvet is in excellent condition. History on Ihling Brothers Everard Company: Ihling Brothers Everard Company, based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is one of the oldest Masonic and Fraternal Regalia manufacturers in the United States. In 1869, the original building of "The Michigan Freemason" stood at the southeast corner of Michigan (then Main St.) at Portage, where the Olde Peninsula Brewpub now stands.[12] By purchasing an adjoining building in 1911, the physical plant was doubled in size to handle the growing business. This expanded to the corner of Michigan at Edwards St. The final relocation as Ihling Bros.
