Description: This is a vintage Walnut New Haven Tambour Mantle Clock. It is believed to be in the 1911 - 1940 range. It is just under 20" long and a little over 9" tall. It is 5" wide. The round clock face is a little over 5 1/2" across. It works for a few minutes and then stops.I have seen some videos on how to correct this but I haven't tried because I didn't want to harm it in any way. It chimes "Ding Dong" once on the half hour, and "Ding Dong" at the top of the hour once for each hour. For example 4 times at 4:00 and 11 times at 11:00 and so on. There is a key with the clock but it is not original. The key will wind the clock and the chimes but will not fit in the hole at the top center. This is to speed up or slow down the clock. You can see some of the walnut is stained darker on the edges around the octagonal case.
