Description: Beautiful miniature portrait pendant framed in 14k gold. The portrait is of a young girl that lived in 17th century Rome. She was executed by papal authorities. The portrait has become a very well known piece of historical artwork and is now housed at a museum in Rome. There is some debate as to who painted the original. The pendant was likely produced in 19th century Italy but could have been made elsewhere in Europe I suppose. It’s pretty faithful to the original and was painted on a porcelain plaque. The plaque is marked by the manufacturer but it’s partially illegible. I see a “29” and at least one character I can’t make out. It is approximately 2” long. The frame is 14k gold. It isn’t marked that I can see. I did an acid test on the gold and it tested positive for 14k gold. I let the acid sit for a good 15-20 minutes and there was no change. The piece is in great overall condition. No damage to speak of just very minor expected wear. Great for the collector of antique jewelry and the collector of miniature portraits. There are some screenshots at the end of the photos for reference. Ships ASAP! Thanks
