Description: Beautiful miniature portrait on porcelain mounted in a gilt wood frame. A perfectly pretty presentation. I love the green background in this portrait. Very likely German made after a famous 1879 Gustav Richter portrait of Queen Louise of Prussia. I believe this portrait was likely painted in that era. This and a few other miniature portraits came out of a wealthy old New England seaside estate. One of the most impressive collections I’ve ever seen. After many things were sent to auction it then took a sixteen day (4 days X 4 weeks) estate sale to move about half the homes contents. They had more fine European porcelain in their house than there is in the rest of New England almost. The man of the house worked as a stateside rep for the heavy hitters of fine euro porcelain most of his life. There are several markings on the backside of the porcelain plaque. The central mark is likely the factory mark but I can’t make it out. Condition is excellent. The wood frame has areas of loss to its gilding. Frame is approximately 3.5”x5”. Ships ASAP! Final few screenshots show other similar pieces for reference only. Other examples of this miniature portrait seem to sell for over $1k when they come up. I’ll have a few other miniature portraits listed if you want to check back. Thanks
