Description: This is a lovely and well done Antique Mid Century Modern Regionalism Painting, watercolor on paper, by Southern California artist and esteemed civic official George Aiassa. This work depicts several historic old buildings on a street in San Francisco, and is titled and notated on the verso: “San Francisco Hill. Property of George Aiassa, City Manager.” This work approximately dates to the 1950’s. George Aiassa’s civic work in the Southern California community is well documented, and has been memorialized on bronze plaques, but his art career is not. Perhaps you know more about his artistic endeavors? Approximately 24 1/2 x 32 inches (including frame.) Actual visible artwork is approximately 14 1/2 x 21 7/8 inches.
