Description: This is a very cool and interesting Antique Mid Century Modern Cubist Still Life Oil Painting on canvas, by Oklahoma modernist J.W. Miller. This work is signed and dated: βJW Miller 57β in the lower left corner, and depicts an unusual still life scene. This work resembles Ralph Anderson's "Basic Forms Problems" painting with various intersecting shapes. Ovals, spheres, rods, curves and angles which appear to form sliding banisters or slipping hand rails. Colors are strong oranges and greens yet softened by gray-white. This work is a representation of experience, reality and perception, through the lens of an artistβs perceptive eye. Additionally, this work is signed: βMillardβ on the verso. Approximately 16 x 22 inches. Good condition for age, with some light scuffing, minor paint loss, and edge wear (please see photos.) This work was originally acquired from a deceased estate in Tulsa, Oklahoma. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer.
