Description: This is a wonderfully hand carved meerschaum pipe in the form of a woman's arm & hand holding what appears to be an egg or a vase. The cuff detail is amazing! Alas, the stem, which I think is amber, has broken & is partly missing. It's in it's original C W Moller fitted case, & there is some Russian writing in there also but I can't read it. That makes sense, as I think both Meerschaum & amber originate in Russia. The vase & hand are about 2 -5/8" at highest. The pipe would be about 6 -1/4" long if it were intact. The exterior of the case is stamped EUROPAS WELTGESCHAFT. It could use a proper cleaning. Perhaps a new stem could be fitted. Still a wonderful Victorian example.
