Description: This antique Japanese Imari dish has an unusual design incorporating double gourd Saki bottles and stylized deer. It is made of porcelain with over-glaze polychrome enamel decorations. This dish has been cherished over the years. When it got a rim chip, it was crudely repaired to preserve it for future generations. The repaired gray filling was painted over with with white enamel that was washed off sometime ago. Please note the last photograph. I date this plate to about the mid-19th century, likely 1850s. Even with the repair (oddly not that visible) I think it is still quite handsome. I priced it accordingly. Condition, old rim repair 8.4” Diameter (top rim) 4.6” Diameter (foot rim) 1.3” Deep The dish's maker is unknown, but it is an original piece from Japan. It is perfect for collectors of Asian antiques and those who appreciate the beauty of Imari ware. This antique dish is a rare find and would make a great conversation piece for any home.
