Description: Antique J. Goodwin Longton Morea Ironstone 5 Inch Berry Dish. J Goodwin produced earthenware at his Longton, England location 1841-1851. The potters mark on this bowl dates to 1846! It’s amazing to think this little bowl has survived 175 years! The mark also features an eagle that reads Ironstone. This mark indicates that this particular ware was produced for export to America. The word ironstone is also inscribed on the bottom. There are some condition issues consistent with age and wear. There is crazing, small pinhole marks in the glaze, and a crack in the back of the plate that appears stable and does not show in the front. There may be a chip or two on the back base of the bowl. Please see photos. Measures 5 inches wide
