Description: Antique Inwald Barolac Grapes Nymphs Frosted Clear Art Glass 1920's Antique art glass vase made by Josef Inwald in Czechoslovakia in the 1915–1925-time frame. It is a very large, thick and heavy crystal glass vase and stands about 8.5 inches" tall. It is a high relief molded vase that depicts a deep "Grapes with Nymphs" scene with a three-dimensional appearance that he called "La Dancing Nymphs". The vase was mold blown then acid washed to create the matte finish typical of his Barolac art glass line. This style of bold high relief art glass was popularized by Lalique in France and there are many similarities between the two as they both competed for the art deco art glass market and in many regards, such as the detailed three-dimensional high relief depicted, this vase is superior. This vase is an original Inwald vase from the 1920's in excellent condition. Measures: 8.5 inches tall, 5.75 inches deep, 4,75 inches across flat highly polished rim-top, 3 Nymphs, Dancing, Grapes 3 Sets of each, 5 inches at widest point, due to embossing, acid washed, frosted 3D effect, vase tapers down to 2 inches.
