Description: ANTIQUE INDIAN COPPER LOTA (not water tight)A late 19th or early 20th century large copper Indian Hindu Lota (these pots are also known as Chambu lotas, Puja lotas or Lota Kalash) and used to store Holy Ganga water, washing in holy Ganga water or for Hindu offerings.The Lota has a convex bottom, so does not sit flat and wobbles, it also sits at a slight angle (see photos). The pot is comprised of several panels which have a type of mortice and tenon joint along the edges to fix them together.
