Please note: I am not an antique button expert. I am still trying to identify the difference between Lacy glass buttons and Imitation Fabric glass buttons. I spent quite a bit of time trying to research this pendant and button. I reached out to a Facebook group I am in with thousands of button experts and enthusiasts also. They were all in awe of this piece. Please see their comments below!!! I can tell you that it is in excellent vintage condition. I do not see any maker mark or metal purity mark. It appears to me to be hand made. I did test the metal and it tested positive for sterling silver. The freshwater pearls are real - tooth test confirmation. There is a black gem stone on top. Since I have not been able to identify what it is, it is not a black diamond, for the purpose of this listing, I am calling it glass or an unidentified stone. *** The necklace did not come with a chain. I just threw on an extra one I had that looked thick enough to hold the chain. I will be sending it along to you also. Some folks love patina or receiving vintage or antique items as they are found, so I leave cleaning and polishing up to the description of the buyer. Plus, I certainly did not want to damage this amazing piece with harsh chemicals as it is amazing as it is. I cannot date the approximate age of the settings except they were well done.
