Description: This antique coin silver calling card case was actually found with some detailed information inside. From the notes that I can see the original owner had this around 1871 and actually had it engraved I believe for some type of a wedding gift, another note that is attached that is a little hard to decipher I believe says something about it being handed to another family member around 1930 with the intention that they could maybe sell it being that it was already an antique. The inscription reads Ernest to augustine? According to the notation they were married in October of 1871, there's also a few other family names listed, Francis h dewey, it says something about Ernest Richland's grandparents. This card case a wedding present to her and she gave it to her daughter Annie Todd in 1930. There was another notation at the end dated 1972. I believe this case was handed down from generation to generation within this family. It was picked up in an estate this is the only information we have been able to find. Definitely a unique gift that could be left and it's original state maybe there's even family members out here that still have a link to this, or it could be refurbished by a professional. Stamp reads coin 7 and has been tested. Sizes are noted in pictures, safety chain is still intact with a heavier patina that could easily be removed if chosen by the new owner. After doing a little bit of research on these, they do seem a little more difficult to come by in this condition and tend to range around the $500 price mark.
