Description: Antique 1871 Aesthetic period Gorham bright cut Japanese pattern bearnaise sauce bucket ladle or dipper. Beautifully textured finish to include a resting bird and a dragonfly amidst marsh grass and more. The ladle measures approx. 6 7/8" long and weighs 35.5 grams. The bucket is 1 1/2" diameter across the top and tapers down to 1 1/8" at the bottom. It is 7/8" deep top to bottom. The ladle is in very good condition with no dents or bends and only very modest wear. No deviation to the arched handle. All pattern work remains crisp and well defined. There is a scripted EM(?) monogram at the top back of the handle. Also stamped sterling along with Gorham maker's mark and Kirkpatrick for original retailer. Please enlarge all pics for best details.
