Description: This is an incredibly rare swivel ring that you will not see again! It was made in remembrance of George MacKenzie Simpson who died on 22nd January 1809 at two years and four months old. This ring most likely belonged to his father. The white enamel was typically used for children and young unmarried people and it is seen much less than black enamel. The blonde hair is so lovely and perfectly braided. It is currently a size 11.5 and can be sized some by a skilled jeweler. It also looks very good worn as a pendant. It is set in lovely 9ct rose gold. This ring was made during the Napoleonic Wars and this style of mourning ring is characteristic of this period. I have found some genealogical information that I can send to you about his family if you are interested. They were a wealthy landowners from Scotland.
