Description: Half Pint Baluster This wonderful pewter baluster tankard-style measuring jug has touchmarks on the lip, one for the Georgian assay mark, and the other is a maker that I cannot identify. The belly is marked half pint. Marked Gaskell and chambers to base . The jug has a stepped foot, a group of decorative ribbed rings about the belly, and a shaped looped handle. Above are all the good bits; now I think this tankard has seen some action in its time: a very old repair, a small hole to the side, and, alas, a large hole to the bottom. It displays well without repair or would be an ideal project for some soldering restoration. Every time I look at it, I think it could tell some tales. Height 9cm 3 1/2”
