Description: Up for your consideration is this OUTSTANDING antique Georgian coral necklace! It is made up of six strands of colored natural Mediterranean coral and natural white coral micro beads. These beads are hand carved into "rolling pin" shapes. The amount of work that went into these is pretty unbelievable!The six strands is broken up into five sections with larger coral "station" beads between each section. The alternating white and orange/red coral bead sections is visually stunning!Necklaces such as this are very rare and seldom seen. All of these beads are all hand cut. The color of this coral is very saturated, and is 100% natural and not treated in any way. These beads have a lovely surface.This necklace is finished with a yellow gold repousse worked ornate clasp, which is in the form of two hands clasping. This necklace measures approximately 31 1/2" long in overall wearable length. The clasp itself measures approximately 1 1/8" long. This necklace weighs a total of 58.9 grams on my digital scale, and is in EXCEPTIONAL antique condition! The clasp is not hallmarked (typical of genuine Georgian jewelry).
