Description: Antique French Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Napkin Ring, Engraved Hélène, Cattails, Charles Murat This exquisite antique French sterling silver napkin ring is beautifully designed with a pattern of cattails, a typical motif of the Art Nouveau period, executed in relief in the “repoussé” technique. A cartouche, formed by stylized leaves and shell, is engraved with the name “Hélène”. It bears the French “Minerve Premier Titre” hallmark indicating the highest quality of French sterling silver (950/1000), used in Paris since 1838. The Minerve Premier Titre is the guarantee that the sterling is at least 95% silver. It also bears the maker’s mark of Charles Murat, master silversmith in Paris between from 1897 and located in the rue des Archives. The maker’s mark consists of the initials “C.M.” surrounding the image of a blackberry flower. This napkin ring is in excellent condition with the exception offaint scratches due to age and normal use. It will be a prestigious addition to your collection.
