Antique French GOTHIC Style Alabaster Mantle/Table Clock Circa: 1830s

Description: Own a BEAUTIFULLY executed EXTREMELY RARE large French Gothic architectural alabaster clockwork masterpiece; movement signed FC; the tall alabaster case produced by high-end clock case artist; 8-day wind two train silk thread suspension solid brass plate restored movement inserted into a large masterfully made alabaster clock case; hand pierced tracery & inscribed on front & sides with intricate Gothic details; previous alabaster repairs located on top areas & at rear side areas shown in photos (center roof topper is a replacement); related pair of matching alabaster urns seen in photo(s) is priced & sold separately (eBay item number: 116261395199). High quality beautifully made 4 ¼” diameter cast gilded brass faceplate contains black painted Roman numerals & a cast gilded “Rose Window” at center; clock case design is intended to represent the architecture of a Gothic church; face plate accented with black steel French hour/minute clock hands; a FAST/SLOW adjustment knob is located on backside of clock movement; clock case front face is intricately pierced in the Gothic style; a brass bell resonates beautifully within the alabaster clock case; clock case sits upon square alabaster feet; clock case is handsomely designed with a stepped base about 3 sides of the clock case; both movement & bell assemblies are mounted securely to case. Chiming correctly & running on time. French winding key included. APPROXIMATE CLOCK DIMENSIONS: height 20 ½” x width 8 ½” x depth 4 ¾” I am NOT a retailer. I am an antique clock collector wishing to reduce my clock collection. This clock comes from my collection & has been running successfully for several years with no difficulties. It has been tested prior to this offering. Clock set-up to establish the correct “beat” is paramount to the clock’s operation, accomplished through placement & leveling (sometimes with rotating the movement while in the clock case). Additionally, temperature & humidity may affect it over time as well. Do not over wind the clock. Lastly, I cannot not guarantee the clock’s operation once shipped. I do take pride as a seller and buyer of these clocks. All shipments will be wrapped in bubble wrap (key & pendulum wrapped separately) set tightly into box containing Styrofoam peanuts, tapped shut & then placed into second box (as may be necessary) filled with padding for added protection, taped shut on all sides.
