Description: This listing is for a wonderful folk art, Art Deco parrot wall hanging planter. It is from the 1920s, or a bit earlier, and features a parrot, holding a chain in his mouth, which has a little wooden plant pot hanging from the chain. The wood is darkened quite a bit with age, and the paint is very good - just a few chips, mostly to his mouth, and one on his foot. Parrots were all the rage in decorating, in the early part of the last century. This piece is guaranteed antique and authentic. You won't be disappointed. He is made from solid wood. The little pot measures 3 1/2" long, and is 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" across the opening. The bottom measures 1 3/4" by 1 3/4".
