Description: This is a cast iron fire alarm call box. Overall, it is in excellent shape. I believe it was probably repainted. It was probably made by Gamewell, but there is no label or plate that declares its manufacturer. It is empty inside, except for a spring-loaded lever and a surface-mounted lock. It has brass or bronze fittings, including the lock, lever, hinges and a plate listing 17 patents. The oldest patent is 377,083, and was granted in 1888 to G.F. Milliken and H.B. Lytle, for an Electrical Auxiliary Signaling System. The most recent patent listed is 660,620 and was granted in 1900 to F.W. Cole, for a Non-Interference Signal Box. The dimensions of the box are approximately 9 1/2’’ high, 6 1/4’’ wide, and 3 1/8’’ deep. The box weighs 9 lbs. 12 oz. Please email me if you have any questions.
