George Henry Boughton; 1833-1905, Anglo-American landscape and genre painter, illustrator and writer, was born in Norwich, England, the son of farmer, The family immigrated to the United States in 1835 and he grew up in Albany, New York, where he started his art career. He was influenced by the artists of the Hudson River School. An etching which has black ink detail, lines and plate tone, printed within platemark on a paper sheet measuring 28 cm x 21 cm (11 x 8 ½ ins.) Signed by the artist. He was influenced by the artists of the Hudson River School. An original etching which has bright and unfaded colour, with excellent fine detail and black ink intaglio detail, lines and plate tone. The image printed within a fine platemark and impression on a laid paper sheet measuring approximately 28 cm x 21 cm (11 x 8 ½ ins.) Signed by the artist in the plate.
