The clock is hall marked with maker's mark WC, Lion Passant for silver, the Leopard head for London, the 'i' date mark for 1904 on the rear of the case and also with maker's mark WC, Lion Passant for silver, and the 'i' date mark for 1904 on the inside of the rear door.The sterling silver case is nicely shaped as a balloon clock and the front edge of the case has been nicely detailed. The white dial is set out with lovely blue Arabic numerals and minute markers which is a rare feature, and it has beautifully shaped hands. It has bevelled convex glass to the door over the dial. The clocks is then raised on shaped bracket feet.The clock is wound and the hands adjusted at the front of the clock and the clock strikes the hours on a gong and strikes once at half past. To the rear is a door to access the movement and is complete with its winding key. The movement is stamped with 'VINCENTI & CIE MEDAILLE D'ARGENT 1855' and '8212' on the movement back plate. Jean Vincenti started his clockmaking workshop just prior to 1823 in Montbeliard, France. Vincenti died in 1834, the business continued to thrive winning numerous awards including the ‘Medaille D’Argent ( silver medal) in Paris in 1855.The clock is hall marked with maker's mark WC, Lion Passant for silver, the Leopard head for London, the 'i' date mark for 1904. DIMENSIONS: The approximate dimensions of the carriage clock are: - 8 3/4 inches / 22 cm high - 6 inches / 15 cm across the front of the clock - 3 1/2 inches / 9 cm deepThe approximate dimensions of the box are: - 4.75 inches / 12 cm high - 7.5 inches / 19 cm wide - 6 inches / 15 cm deep AGE: From the hallmark the clock dates to circa 1904. CONDITION: The clock is in lovely condition, as can be seen from the photographs just odd age related marks commensurate with age and use. The clock is in working order and happily ticking and striking away.
