It holds both original photos, one on each side. There are two young women on one photo, and one on the other. All are smiling. The locket is in very good condition with patina on the reverse that can be machine polished. We hand polish our jewelry. There are no dings or dents. Both sides have the frame and clear cover. The locket is beautifully hand engraved with the initials MFV on the cover in an elaborate font. The locket measures 1 inch in diameter and is 3/16 of an inch deep at the center. Including the rings on the top, the pendant is 1 5/16 of an inch tall. There are no visible marker marks. We did not want to disturb the photos by removing them.
