Condition: This antique teddy bear is in good condition as well as being so handsome. The mohair fur shows expected wear, particularly around the snout and joints, as well as the felt paw pads. The 2 arm pads were covered in leather a long time ago. Both foot pads have minor holes, exposing the excelsior. The bear’s joints work freely, allowing for various poses. There is some surface wear consistent with age, a small tear can be found at the base of his right ear, as if he wear carried around by the ear..He had a growler in the tummy, but that no longer works. He is a well-preserved bear for his age. Background: This bear is a wonderful example of early American teddy bears, which were often handmade with great care and attention to detail. The triangle head design is characteristic of bears from this era, giving it a classic, timeless appeal.
