Description: This antique La Trompette 12" Dufresne style chef Knife was made in France between 1891-1920. Dufresne added the "FRANCE" mark in 1891which allowed his knives to be imported into the USA. The "Dufresne" stamp was replaced in 1920 by "POUZET" (the new owner). The blade edge is 12 inches long and the knife is 17 1/4 inches long overall. The blade face is stamped on one side with "FRANCE Dufresne & Co. MED.OR.E.U. 1878" with the Trumpet Logo and "La Trompette in a semi circle around the logo.
