Antique Doll Dress Civil War Era Rare TinType Album Petticoat &Hat French Rustic

Description: For your pleasure and consideration a Doll Trousseau consisting of a Antique Timeworn Doll Dress Civil War Era, Miniature Tin Type Album with Civil War Era Photographs, Antique Petticoat and Hat. Extremely rare and all 4 treasures in good shape! A collectors dream, Museum ready beautiful Civil War Era Vignette Trousseau. The antique doll dress is a timeworn faded deep blue-green wool. There is a black silk piping around the neck with teeny tiny cream colored Cluny lace collar. There are breaks in the Cluny lace. Please do not bid on this listing if you are not passionate about faded glory and grandeur. This dress is approximately 170 years old! Yup this is the real deal! Anything from this civil War Era is extremely rare. We see doll items from the Victorian Era but doll items that made it thru the Civil War are simple precious, and should be treasured, loved and given their due respect. The wool dress has that color faded glory I find to be so charming. There are a few tiny pin holes in the wool. The bodice of the dress is lined with cream colored muslin cotton. Most of the dress is hand sewn there are a few treadle stitches. There are 5 tiny glass buttons on the back closure. On the front of the bodice part of the dress there is a black chevron insert from neck to the waist consisting of black velvet ribbon and black silk ribbon. The “fuzz” is mostly gone from the velvet ribbon it is very fragile and would need to be handled with care. There is piping around the waist and a heavy gathering. There are large black silk cuffs they may have been velvet originally I can’t say for sure. The inside of the dress shows the unfaded true original color of Blue-green deep turquoise. This doll dress was most likely a Mourning dress or a fancy day dress for this time period. The dress is 13” long, the waist is 9 1/2”. The dress would fit a 16” doll. The dress has a generous 2” hem. The cream colored heavy cotton draw string petticoat also has a 2” hem. There are stains and discoloring along with fading. I did not try to wash the petticoat. The draw string petticoat and dress could accommodate a hoop but there is so much fabric on both gatherings that it is very full. Absolutely beautiful for display. The tiny 1 1/2” x 1 1/2” Antique Family Album has an amazing 18 Tin Type portraits! The inside has a colophon end page with the publisher, Simmons & Co. New Bedford. The gold gilded edges are barely visible. The gold gilded design on the front, back cover and spine look’s pretty good for the albums age. The catch is missing. There are stains, foxing and yellow areas on the tintypes decorative Matt boards. The Matt boards (paper that surrounds the tin type) have delicate gold gilding vignettes. 3 of the 18 paper Matt board vignettes are ripped. The tin type portraitures are just wonderful revealing men and women of the period, fashion and one man has this long pipe that I found to be particularly interesting. A wonderful little accessory for any doll or display. The Antique Black Millinery Straw Hat has a lovely deep scallop edge. Black gross grain ribbon makes a chin strap underneath the hat and a black silk lining. The black gross grain ribbon was twisted tight to make several flowers with cream colored stamens.
