Antique DITHRIDGE BLUE Milk Glass Frames Hand Painted Flowers Easter Scrolls

Description: UNIQUE & HARD TO FIND! This listing is for two frames.Color resembles French Baccarat Opaline, it's an exquisite shade that will enhance your blue glass collection! Dithridge & Co. made in Pittsburgh Pa. produced and advertised this "Easter Novelty" milk glass frame for home decor. The blue glass figural frame has raised scroll designs on the front surface with a back stand made out of the same colored turquoise blue glass. One of the pieces still has remnants of the original hand painted floral design it was sold with. Otherwise there are antique gold paint highlights throughout the two pieces. These pieces are not only beautiful, but functional. If you are not a strict glass preservationist, the center ovals can be oil painted and used like a self easel or even to denote place settings or a dinner menu. Conditions: read and look carefully at the pictures. There are manufacturing imperfections, but they do not detract from the beauty or special quality of these pieces.* *The usual line marks that are called "straw marks" that were part of the manufacturing process when straw was used to cool the glass. * Both pieces have some open surface bubbles, they are shown in pictures and do not detract from the gloss. * On the left side/back-half of the rim, one of the pieces has a nick where the glass was popped out from the makers mold. It is a small chip that is hard to see but can be felt with the finger passing around the rim. *Around the inside frame indented rims are light grayish marks that likely occurred at the manufacturing level so the indent is not sharp or defined.
