Description: Vintage / Antique molded glass bead made in Bohemia better known as the Czech Republic specifically for being traded into Africa in the 1920s-1950's. Among the Fulani women of Mali these trade beads were used during weddings being presented to the bride, hence the name evolved wedding beads. This Lion Claw bead measures 33mm long by 19.46mm wide and 5.83mm thick. These beads are worn everyday by some African women and traditionally on their wedding day. This bead is in great overall condition with a very slight wear. Perfect for jewelry making or adding to your African trade bead collection.
