Description: This listing is for an Antique Spelter / cold painted Cast Iron Scottie Dog on an Onyx or Marble Base. I believe it is originally meant to serve as a desk / shelf piece to be used for a Pen Tray / Holder. It could be used for a variety of uses, and the dual pen holders could be unscrewed & replaced with inkwells or another item of the buyers desire. The little dog Sculpture in the center is especially charming, I am not sure if it is cold painted cast iron or cold painted spelter. It is not marked by a maker or artisan that I have seen. I believe it to have been made in the 1910s- 1920s or possibly earlier. The design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won’t have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor. It is in good condition, with no major damage. Some light wear from age, as expected, and some felt loss on the bottom of the base.
