Description: THIS antique bank was manufactured in the U.S.A. By Kyser & Rex with a patent date on the rear of Feb 7, 1882. The Date 1882 is also over the door of the church. The bank base measures 3 x 4-inches, and it is 5.5-inches in height. There is a coin slot it on the roof. The locking mechanism is the rooftop chimney . You twist the chimney 90-degrees and lift , the roof separates, and the bank opens on all sides. After removing your savings, you need help to get the bank together again, lock it back up, and start saving again. The bank weighs 24.4 ounces. This bank is in excellent condition. THERE IS A STABLE INCOMPLETE HISTORIC BASEPLATE CRACK part way from left front to center 2/3 of the way. THE CRACK IN NO WAY AFFECTS THE OPERATION OF THE BANK The red paint on the chimney is still 2/3 there, and the gold paint on the highlights of the church are also about 50% there. There is age patina and minor spots of rust as would be expected of a 140 + year old iron bank that spent its life in the moist Pacific Northwest. This is a rare bank in very Good Collector Condition. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL PHOTOS FOR BETTER IDEA OF CONDITION.
